The Botanist Medical Marijuana Dispensary is celebrating their official Grand Opening today (March 31) in Williamstown. They are located in the small shopping center in front of Sam’s Club… at the busy Black Horse Pike and Berlin-Cross Keys Rd intersection.

While the official Grand Opening is today at 9:30am, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Council Chamber of Commerce members welcomed the new business to town at the Ribbon Cutting ceremony back on March 26th.

Monroe Township will receive 2% of gross revenue sales.

Note: The image at the top of this article was from 3 weeks ago when they were still finalizing construction. That dumpster is no longer there!

This facility is offering medical use marijuana only. You will need the Doctor prescribed medical marijuana card to purchase at this location.

While New Jersey has legalized recreational marijuana, they have not worked out all of the legislative and administrative details… so there are no operating recreational facilities yet.

While 42Freeway has not visited the inside of the store, from their website photos it appears to be a very class Urban Modern setting with tables of product and a counter area, presumably for working with Botanist staff when determining your product purchases.

The Botanist facility was first brought to 42Freeway readers back in October 2020, when the owners appeared before the Monroe Township Planning Board seeking approval.

Marijuana Menu

A look at the Botanist online menu shows they offer a variety of their own branded products, as well as items from other manufactures… such as Curaleaf

If you’ve never been to a New Jersey dispensary, a look at their menu is an interesting view into what they are all about!

According to the online menu, there are 34 different flowers and styles currently offered. Cookies and Cream, Citrus Sap, Mango and Sour Banana Sherbet are just a few of the named products.

They are also showing 3 different Vape products, and a watermelon edible lozenge.

Discounts are offered for pediatric patients, Senior Citizens, Veterans, those on Government Assistance, and… if you travel more than 30 miles to get there you can even get a 10% off travel discount! Check their website for details!

Acreage Holdings: Growing in New Jersey

The Botanist website shows 11 Botanist locations in the USA. Most are in the Northeast, with a location in Florida and one in California is coming soon.

In New Jersey, this is their third location, with the other two being in Egg Harbor New Jersey and the Atlantic City Boardwalk!

The parent company is Acreage Holdings, which had previously acquired non-profit Compassionate Care Foundation. The Atlantic City and Egg Harbor locations were part of Compassionate Care.

In the deal Acreage also acquired a large 135,000 sq ft Egg Harbor growing facility.., which previously was a former Trump casino warehouse.

Acreage is still looking to expand their growing capabilities in New Jersey.

Back in the fall of 2020, 42Freeway wrote about the upcoming Mantua Township Planning Board meeting, where Acreage was looking for approval to turn a former 110,000 sq ft Orchid greenhouse into a marijuana grow facility.

The meeting was postponed twice before being heard in December. The town of Mantua did not approve that request, and Acreage will be presenting their plans again at a later date.

To be clear, the plans for the Mantua greenhouses are for a growing facility only and there would be no direct sales.
